WHERE DOES THE ZEBRA FINCH ORIGINALLY COME FROM?
The Zebra Finch originates in Australia, and most stock in the EU are the result of captive breeding over time. Zebra Finches would therfore deemed to be domesticated.

DOES THE ZEBRA FINCH ONLY EXIST IN ONE COLOUR FORM?
In common with other bird types from Australian , zebra finches come in a wide range of colour forms. New mutations still from time to time occur. A number of colour forms are illustrated on this website in the images section.

WHAT IS A SUITABLE DIET FOR ZEBRA FINCHES?
Zebra Finches will normally eat seeds, and their diet consists of millets, and clean water. However, they will do better if other additional materials are available. They are keen on mineralised or small oyster shell grit, crushed baked eggshell, cuttlefish bone should always be available.
