A Zebra Finches Tune is in its Genes

An experiment in New York has found that Zebra Finches are able to reproduce the songs made by previous generations even if they have never heard the song before in the wild or elsewhere. In a remarkable experiment it was found that young zebra finches that have been isolated for their parents and all other birds began to recreate the song of their parents but in an off-key manner. However after several generation of brreding the song moves back on key showing that the song of the Zebra Finches is built into the genes.
